Starter Bot
The Starter Bot System enables any FLL-C team to maximize their performance in the Robot Game, utilizing only components from a single LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime Set (45678). As this video shows, the robot and attachments are easy and fun to build, and they enable students to perform desired tasks on the FLL-C competition board.
Why You Should Use The Starter Bot System
It's Balanced
Center of gravity for the Starter Bot is positioned near the front, which helps stabilize the robot and prevents it from tipping over during missions.
It is Small
Starter Bot is simple and fast to assemble. Compact size (18x19) makes navigating the FLL-C board much easier.
Secure Attachments
Attachment gears securely connect to the Starter Bot, allowing for quick and easy switching of attachments.
Attachment Variety
Kids can build attachments to achieve the desired motion for a specific mission on the FLL-C board.
Consistency
The Starter Bot can be evenly positioned (either front or rear) against the wall of the FLL-C competition board.
Attachment Identification
Starter Bot can be programmed to identify attachments based on color and execute corresponding code for each attachment.
Build the Starter Bot
Instructions to build one Standard Bot. Requires ONE LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Set (45678).
Horizontal Circular Attachment - A
Push levers or hook objects in a horizontal, circular direction. Version - A.
Vertical Circular Attachment - A
Lift or push down on levers. Trap or lift up objects. Do this in a vertical, circular direction. Version - A.
Vertical Circular Attachment - C
Lift or push down on levers. Trap or lift up objects. Do this in a vertical, circular direction. Version - C. (More speed and less torque)
Horizontal Rack & Pinion Attachment
Push or pull in a linear, horizontal direction.
Basic Attachment
Foundational attachment design that securely connects to the Starter Bot. Can be easily and quickly attached to and removed from the Starter Bot.

Note: The Starter Bot and ALL attachments ONLY use pieces available in the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Set (45678). One set will provide enough pieces for the Starter Bot and 3-4 attachments. Additional pieces will need to be acquired in order to build more than 4 attachments.
