It Can Always Be Better...
Kids love playing with Lego. It is the best toy in the world because its possibilities are limitless. One can use it to solve problems. One can use it to create art. One can use it to bring fantasy and imagination to life.

Over the past 20 years Lego has released a variety of Robotics systems (MINDSTORMS, SPIKE, Computer Science and AI). Each system has created opportunities for educators to teach kids about engineering and coding. Hundreds of thousands of students have built robots in the classroom, or participated in First Lego League teams. The limitless nature of Lego enables these robotics projects to be open-ended. Students are never 'finished'. They can always make their creation better, stronger, faster and more accurate.
The unfortunate reality is that many students are not able to realize their goals when building and coding their robots. The Lego Robotics system is awesome, but it can be complicated for a middle school student to figure out which piece to use to solve a particular problem. The mission of Robotics Rules and the recipe for success with Lego Robotics is a combination of structure and innovation. Give the students a foundation. Teach them the skills they need to succeed. Break down large problems into manageable smaller problems. Help them learn to iterate. Then... When they are ready... Let them use their new powers to create innovative solutions.
